Ryan Stotts
Partner
Ryan is an owner and the day-to-day manager at Drake Garage, where he takes pride in continuing the shop’s long-standing tradition of honest, dependable automotive service in Des Moines.

Ryan is passionate about building lasting relationships with customers and believes great automotive service starts with trust, communication, and treating people right. Whether helping a customer understand a repair, supporting the Drake Garage team, or finding ways to improve the overall customer experience, Ryan works to make sure every person who walks through the door feels confident that they are being taken care of.
​
Under Ryan’s leadership, Drake Garage has continued to grow while staying focused on the principles that have made the shop successful for generations: quality workmanship, straightforward recommendations, fair treatment, and standing behind the work. Ryan is committed to building on the reputation Drake Garage has earned over the years while finding new ways to improve the shop and better serve its customers.

Ryan believes that running a successful repair shop is about much more than fixing cars. It is about earning trust, being honest when recommending repairs, communicating clearly, and treating every customer with the same level of respect and care. His goal is to create an experience where customers know they can bring their vehicles to Drake Garage and receive honest advice and quality service.

Outside of Drake Garage, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as his passion for motorsports. A lot of his free time is spent supporting his son’s racing and being involved in the racing community.

For Ryan, Drake Garage is more than an automotive repair shop—it is a local business built on relationships, reputation, and taking care of the community that has supported it for decades. He is proud to be part of the next generation of Drake Garage and looks forward to continuing the tradition of serving Des Moines families for years to come.
Jim D.
Service Advisor
Jim brings a genuine passion for the automotive industry and a strong commitment to helping people feel confident about their vehicles. He takes pride in making the automotive repair process easier to understand and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure customers feel taken care of. His approachable personality, knowledge, and dedication to customer service have made him a valued member of the Drake Garage team.

When he’s not at the shop, Jim enjoys staying active through exercise and bike riding, brewing his own beer, working in the yard, and spending quality time with his family. For Jim, it’s all about staying busy, enjoying the things he loves, and spending time with the people who matter most.
Josh S.
Shop Foreman
Josh brings more than 32 years of automotive experience to the Drake Garage team. Over the course of his career, he has developed a deep understanding of the automotive industry and a genuine passion for working on vehicles. Josh is someone who takes pride in his work, approaches each day with a strong work ethic, and enjoys the challenges that come with diagnosing, repairing, and improving vehicles.
​
For Josh, working in the automotive industry is more than just a job. He enjoys the hands-on nature of the work and the satisfaction that comes from taking on a difficult problem and finding a solution. One of his biggest passions outside of his day-to-day work is building and customizing hot rods. He enjoys taking an idea and turning it into something unique, spending the time and attention needed to bring a project to life. His passion for custom vehicles reflects the same creativity, patience, and attention to detail that he brings to his work at Drake Garage.

Josh is also a firm believer in continuing to learn and improve. With more than three decades of experience in the industry, he has seen a lot of changes in automotive technology and repair, but his enthusiasm for the trade has remained strong. He enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with those around him and takes pride in being part of a team that is committed to doing quality work and taking care of customers.

Outside of the shop, Josh enjoys spending quality time with his kids, camping, and working on personal projects. Whether he is spending time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, or turning wrenches on one of his own projects, Josh stays busy doing the things he enjoys most.

Josh’s experience, passion for the automotive industry, and dedication to his craft make him an important part of the Drake Garage team. His commitment to doing things right and his genuine enjoyment of the automotive world are qualities that customers and coworkers can count on every day.
Jake B.
Service Advisor / Technician
Jake has had a passion for cars since the age of 14, when he began working alongside his dad on a 1963 Chevy Impala. What started as time spent learning the basics of working on cars quickly grew into a lifelong passion for the automotive industry. From that first project with his dad to the many vehicles he has owned and worked on over the years, Jake has always enjoyed getting his hands dirty and figuring out how things work.
​
Working with his hands has become second nature to Jake, and he enjoys the challenge that comes with automotive repair. He especially appreciates the problem-solving side of the industry—taking a vehicle with an issue, working through the possibilities, and finding a solution. His natural curiosity and mechanical mindset make the automotive industry a great fit for him, and he brings that same enthusiasm and attention to detail to his work at Drake Garage.

Jake's passion for cars extends well beyond the shop. Over the years, he has owned more cars than he can count, giving him plenty of hands-on experience with different vehicles and projects. He enjoys attending car shows, checking out unique builds, and spending time around other people who share his appreciation for cars and the automotive hobby.
​
Outside of the shop, Jake is also passionate about music. He enjoys making music with his band, Jacob County and the Damaged Goods, and spending time with family. When he isn't working on cars or making music, you can often find Jake camping with his family or following WNBA basketball. He is a big fan of the sport and especially enjoys cheering on Caitlin Clark.

Jake brings a unique combination of mechanical experience, curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for what he does to the Drake Garage team. Whether he's working through a challenging vehicle problem, talking cars with a customer, playing music, or enjoying time with his family, Jake brings the same enthusiasm and personality to everything he does.
